Avatar may accelerate the 3D transition of home entertainment systems
I was amazed by the visual effects in the movie Avatar. They look so real and live, especially in 3D.
I can see that this revolutionary movie may accelerate the transitions of home theatre systems from the traditional 2D image to 3D. High definition blu-ray movie DVDs are already popular nowaday, what’s next? Of course 3D movies. Depending on whether the contents can be efficiently compressed into one or two Blu-ray discs, cost, and possible other technical limitation, this is just a matter of time. I am looking forward to seeing a 3D version of the movie to be released soon. Whether the current blu-ray players be able to play is questionable. Sensitive manufactures must smell the trend and foresee the early demand, and start preparing the release of 3D media players and related gadgets to the general public. Possibly with a duo core processor, each deals with view from one eye. It would be an unmatched experiment when they are paired with surround sound.
